Willow – At home Newborn photography.

Here is the very cute, if not a little stubborn (Okay maybe a lot stubborn) Willow. I went to see Willow and her lovely mum Emma a week ago for her first ever photoshoot, and Mum said to me that she’s very strong willed and doesn’t like to give in to sleep, She wasn’t joking !!

Willow had her own ideas on how she wanted the shoot to go and with every little movement I would make she would jump, sort of like that falling reflex. But I am pleased to say that in the end I managed to get her off to sleep and into some lovely and very cute poses so mum and dad have lots of beautiful images of their sweet little girl to treasure forever.

Just as we were chatting near the end of the shoot I mentioned about lots of parents asking me to photograph the baby with their pet dog. Willow’s little furry friend Chewy was sitting out in the garden sunbathing and it seemed like too good of an opportunity to miss. (Star wars fans will know how big the real Chewy is and the fact that their dog is a Jack russell just made me chuckle)

I said to Emma that it’s something I LOVE to do as they are part of the family too, she agreed and was very keen to get that image of them together, so at the end of the shoot we set about trying to capture that image. It wasn’t easy as Willow was ready for another feed by then and Chewy thought Emma was just  playing while she was trying to get him into position but, I am so happy to say we managed it 🙂

We had already discussed sitter images too as Mum is very keen to document Willow’s milestones. I am very much looking forward to hopefully seeing Willow again very soon and getting another image of her with Chewy as she grows!!

Just a quick note to add that all images I take with babies and animals are composite images (Keep an eye out for that blog post coming soon) I will take an image of baby and then one of the pet in the same setting and then merge them together in photoshop to make sure that everyone is kept safe at all times
